The Stylized Post & Beam Kitchen

Post and beam kitchens are equally suited to the European styles of French Country, Tuscan, Scandinavian or English Cottage as they are to American styles such as Farmhouse, Modern, Contemporary, and Mountain Rustic. Put another way, there are very few styles of the modern-day kitchen that timber frame structures can’t accommodate beautifully. Best of all, regardless of style, these kitchens have been built with the 21st Century cook in mind. Some may look Old-World, but all the amenities and appliances are the latest in kitchen technological wizardry!

Many a kitchen’s design/decor has been heavily influenced by European cultures. Whether French, Italian, Scandinavian or Mediterranean, we see these styles played out over and over not only in Europe, but here in the U.S. and around the world.

French post & beam kitchen

This French Country post & beam kitchen has used color, stone and wood to define its particular style.

Tuscan Kitchen

This new kitchen used shades of cream and gold along with warm-toned wood and stone to achieve a sophisticated Tuscan style.

Scandinavian Kitchen

The bright whites and blond woods combined with polished stainless steel give this Scandinavian kitchen its clean, unadorned look.

On this side of the Atlantic, we have added several additions of our own to the book of stylized kitchens.

Post & Beam Kitchen - Modern

This modern kitchen-in-the-round owes its Mod vibe to many things, not the least of which is a barn silo location!

Rustic Post & Beam Kitchen

The rough-sawn post and beams, the natural wood tones and the period light fixtures all say Rustic in this new kitchen.

Timber Frame Kitchen Contemporary

This seaside home's gorgeous post & beam kitchen is the height of American Contemporary. High ceilings, bright whites and warm wood tones are balanced out by the deep gray-brown color on the granite counter tops.
